Angel Kowalski, Group Leader, Inspections & Surveys

Angel Kowalski is group leader, Inspections & Surveys for DNV Columbus. Prior to this position, Mr. Kowalski worked as a senior project manager for the External Corrosion Section managing external corrosion control projects, including field data collection, analysis and verification. He also served as field services assistant manager between January of 2004 and August 2006, conducting field surveys and training field crews. He has over 22 years of experience as a project and technical manager performing External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) as an integrity assessment tool for underground pipelines. He has surveyed more than 1,500 miles of pipelines with Close Interval Potential Survey and DCVG techniques in USA, Venezuela and Brazil. He has extensive experience in all aspects of installation, surveying and maintenance of cathodic protection systems. He developed and applied the Integral Evaluation of the External Corrosion Control Systems for Buried Pipelines in Venezuela. He also has over seven years of experience in the application and quality testing of fusion bonded epoxy coating for on and off-shore projects in Venezuela, Brazil, United Kingdom, and The North Sea. He has also been active in applying the External Corrosion and SCC Direct Assessment Methodology for pipelines in the USA.
