Oliver Moghissi, Ph.D. Director and Head, Materials & Technology Center
Oliver Moghissi, Ph.D. is the director and head of the Materials & Technology Center for DNV Columbus. Dr. Moghissi's experience is focused on developing and implementing technology to optimize corrosion management programs. His experience includes research (supporting oil & gas production, pipelines, nuclear waste, and marine), oil & gas operations support (including on-site troubleshooting and development of corrosion management programs), and consulting.
Dr. Moghissi is widely recognized in the US onshore transmission pipeline segment largely because of his roles in developing and validating Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (ICDA) and External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) methods (including standard development and incorporation to US Pipeline Safety Regulations).
Dr. Moghissi is active in NACE International, where he has chaired a range of technical and administrative committees. He received the NACE International Presidential achievement award in 2003 and served on the NACE Board of Directors.
