Ray Davies, Director, Strategic Business Development

Ray Davies is the director of strategic business development for DNV Columbus. Mr. Davies has 33 years of experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry in combining the technical and management issues related to the development, implementation and assessment of management systems for operations, mechanical integrity, safety, environment and quality. He has a solid grounding in technical issues including metallurgical engineering, corrosion, non destructive testing and risk based decision making coupled with a broad management systems experience covering all operational aspects of plants and pipelines.

He has acted as the project leader or team member in numerous projects covering diverse operating and regulatory environments throughout the world including Canada, USA, Brazil, Abu Dhabi, Norway, Malaysia and China.

His most recent experience is in reviewing the mechanical integrtiy system for a major pipline operator in China and integrating the recommended improvements into the existing safety management system

Mr. Davies is co-author of a managment systems book "Safety and the Bottom Line" and was presenter for a series of pipeline web casts organized by the Southern Gas Association in the USA and covering Quality Assurrance, Management of Change and Performance Measurment aspects of the gas pieline standard, ASME B31.8.S
